The summer kitchen's rooms were opened for guests in August 1998. The building is currently being restored into a single cottage style accommodation.

The summer kitchen with its walk-in fireplace was used as a kitchen (until a kitchen was added to the farmhouse in 1915)wash house, sewing room and for storage.

Later, during the 1940's and 50's, daughters of the Patterson family (the 2nd owners) lived here when they began housekeeping.

The summer kitchen's two rooms were opened in August 1998 as two rooms. Downstairs was Sariah's Kitchen and upstairs, Mother's Sewing Room.

Currently the Summer Kitchen is being restored into a single cottage style accommodation. The upstairs will be a bedroom and ensuite bath. Downstairs there will be a living/dining room with a small kitchen
