Southdown Sheep

are an old English sheep breed. One of the first breeds to be established, Southdowns were used to develop other meat breeds. Their wool, although short, is suitable for spinning.

Weatherbury Sheep are named after Charles Dickens' characters (e.g. Oliver Twist, Jacob Marley, Little Nell).
