The 1870's farmhouse at Weatherbury Farm Vacation Bed and Breakfast, Avella Pennsylvania; a family farm stay vacation destination in the country, southwest of Pittsburgh PA -- fun and educational

The farmhouse was built circa 1870, with the addition of the kitchen, bathroom, and two bedrooms in the 1910's. We are the fourth family to own this house (preceded by the Murdocks, Pattersons and Easthams).

Farm vacations at Weatherbury Farm started in 1992 with two rooms in the farmhouse. Currently lodging is available in only one room. That room, known as Jane's Room, is available to groups who require more accommodations than the two rooms in the Summer Kitchen (Sariah's Kitchen and Mother's Sewing Room) and three suites in the Livery (The Carriage House, the Mews and the Stables) offer.

During the past twenty years, we have worked on the interior restoration of the farm house, striving to keep as much of the past intact as possible. The front of the farmhouse has been stripped and repainted and shutters were re-hung on the original hardware. We began stripping and painting the east side of the farm house in the autumn of 2004; the remainder of the painting is high on our "to-do" list.

Guests are encouraged to make themselves at home in the farm's gathering places.
