| Overnight Farm Experience | ||
|
Weatherbury Farm offers an overnight experience where
families can learn about farming and life on the farm. On Saturday and
Sunday mornings after
breakfast, guests are invited to help Farmer Dale with
chores. After chores families
can enjoy life on the farm. Many families have fun watching (from a
distance, of course) Farmer Dale & Farmer Nigel at work in the fields. Or
sometimes (more often than we like), they may be working on keeping our farm
equipment in good running order. Some families like to get their hands
dirty and help Marcy weed the garden! Some families choose to also
visit nearby attractions during their stay. Most
families, however, enjoy the opportunity to kick back and relax on the farm and
enjoy life in the slow lane. A visit to
Weatherbury Farm, with the exception of morning chores is a time for
families to enjoy unstructured time together enjoying life on the farm. There are a wealth of articles
about giving children unstructured time to just enjoy being a kid.
It's a theory we subscribe to at Weatherbury Farm.
"The Joys of Doing Nothing" is an interesting read. |

| Folk Music Jams and Workshops | ||
|
Saturday June 8 2013 & Saturday October 19 2013 : Potluck Dinner and Folk Music Jam Potluck dinners begin at 5:30 PM and are followed by the Folk Music Jam. There is no charge; please bring a dish to share. Potluck Dinners and Jams are held on Saturdays throughout the year. To get an early heads up on the next jam, sign up for our folk music newsletter (above). (We also have a farm vacation and grass fed meats letter if you are interested.) Jams are folks playing and folks singing and folks listening (not to mention lots of great food!). An attendee at our November '07 Jam called it a community sing-along! Sign up for our newsletter (above) to keep up to date on scheduled jams and workshops.

| Sheep Fest: 2001 - 2005 | ||
|
Pictures from our four years of
Sheep Fest
are on-line. Sheep
Fest celebrated the heritage of Sheep in southwestern Pennsylvania. There
were sheep (of course), demonstrations and hands-on opportunities of fiber
arts (including spinning, weaving, bobbin lace and knitting) and perhaps the
most beautiful crafts you have ever seen! We regret that Sheep Fest will not be held in 2013. However, we do have many sheep roaming the farm -- come for an overnight farm vacation! |
