indian runner duck pow-wow Indian Runner Ducks have a characteristic upright stance and run (extremely fast) rather than waddle. Runner ducks were introduced into Britain from Malaysia around 1870 and from their gained popularity in other countries all over the world.

Our runner ducks came to Weatherbury Farm in August 1994 -- and are a delight both to visitors and the farm family!

Baby Indian Runner Ducks will join the barnyard in the spring of 2008.

Indian Runner Ducks hold a "pow-wow" to plan the day's activities.

 

 Our 2006 Christmas card featured our ducks and geese singing "The Weatherbury Wassail Song" .... you know the one:

"Here we come a a-waddling among the snow so white.
Here we come a-quacking so fair to be seen.
Love and joy come to you, and to you your waddle too,
And God bless you, and send you A Happy New Year,
And God send you a Happy New Year."

 Baby ducklings are always a delight at Weatherbury Farm. We plan to add more baby ducklings to the barnyard in Spring, 2008.
