"One of the Most Fun Weekend Getaways with Kids in PA!"

FunPennsylvania.com December 4, 2011

" 'We want people to understand the source of their food' says Marcy Tudor of Weatherbury Farm"
The New York Times
, May 6, 2007

" Less than an hour from Pittsburgh, this grass-fed cattle and sheep farm has a children’s program that makes little ones the right-hand helpers of Farmer Dale." WeJustGotBack.com, June 2008

" You won't find anything as close to your grandparents' farm."
Weekend Magazine
, September 2006

"Frequently visitors are grandparents who bring their grandchildren. It is a great way to interact while giving grandchildren the opportunity to learn about how their grandparents grew up."
The Stockman Grass Farmer, April 2009

"Trade in your yard work and overscheduled weekends for a taste of the simple life."
Pittsburgh Magazine, August 2006

"Families rise and shine to Marcy's cinnamon apple pancakes. Then it's off to feed cattle and chickens.... Young guests can pet the billy goat, Gruff, romp with the bunnies or take a dip in the pool."

Family Fun Magazine, April 2001

There are many activities right on the farm for the guest who wants to be busy, and those who so desire can be busy doing nothing at all.   Guests may relax on the porches, picnic on the  grounds, or enjoy the swimming pool on a summer day (pool open memorial day to labor day).

Children of all ages will enjoy helping Farmer Dale with morning chores. They will delight in getting acquainted with the goats, rabbits, ducks, chickens, geese, sheep and cattle. Weatherbury is a working farm. Each day features new experiences. Families staying two or more nights are invited to participate in our Weatherbury Farm Kid's Program.

Weatherbury Farm is set in an area of natural beauty, which offers a stopping-off place for exploring the many attractions of the area.  Pittsburgh, Washington PA and panhandle West Virginia are within easy driving distance.

Special events at the farm include folk music workshops.

Weatherbury Farm offers an overnight experience where families can learn about farming and life on the farm.  On Saturday and Sunday mornings after breakfast, guests are invited to help Farmer Dale with chores.  After chores families can enjoy life on the farm.  Many families have fun watching (from a distance, of course) Farmer Dale & Farmer Nigel at work in the fields. Or sometimes (more often than we like), they may be working on keeping our farm equipment in good running order.  Some families like to get their hands dirty and help Marcy weed the garden! Some families  choose to also visit nearby attractions during their stay. Most families, however, enjoy the opportunity to kick back and relax on the farm and enjoy life in the slow lane.
